Kentucky Public Procurement Assocation

Membership in KPPA, a chapter of the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing, offers a variety of benefits to individuals employed in public-sector procurement in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

KPPA remains committed to the ongoing professional development of our members through education, certification and networking activities. If you're involved in public purchasing, membership in KPPA can help you grow and advance in your profession.

Professional Education

KPPA sponsors many training opportunities throughout each calendar year, including NIGP's professional development seminars. Please visit the KPPA calendar for details on currently scheduled events.

Certification

KPPA promotes certifications through the Universal Public Purchasing Certification Council (UPPCC) by offering content training, review courses, and monetary incentives to members. Internationally recognized professional certifications such as the Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) or the management-level Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO) enhance members' understanding of the professional standards and requirements for careers in public procurement.

Once certified, members can easily maintain their certification status with re-certification points earned at inexpensive seminars and by attending the annual KPPA Forum.

Networking

KPPA is made up of over 200 public procurement professionals from across the Commonwealth of Kentucky. A member directory on our website, along with other online information-sharing opportunities are available to KPPA members to encourage a "members helping members" environment.

Conferences

The Annual KPPA Forum and Product Exposition is held each fall. This three-day event includes educational seminars, multiple networking opportunities and a Vendor Exposition featuring the latest products and services from more than 100 vendors in attendance.

Purchasing Month

The month of March is designated by NIGP as "Purchasing Month". To recognize and celebrate Purchasing Month, KPPA offers its members a day of FREE workshops along with reasonably priced professional development seminars. Check our web site or the quarterly KPPA newsletter for information on upcoming Purchasing Month activities!
